Meet Marc

Meet my new friend Marc. I've been longing to befriend Marc for awhile now, but RC protested. I've been carrying so much stuff my laptop and things to work everyday in a lovely leather bag RC bought for me.

Now, my new friend Marc will carry all of my junk belongings for me.

The interior is so soft!
A fuzzy black material keeps everything cushioned.

Want Marc?
You can find him here, here and here.

The guy at the Apple store laughed when I told him that I didn't need a bag for Marc. He's like "Who is Marc?".... I thought I was pretty funny.

I've learned from commuting to and from work each day- it's essential that you have the right bag; one that isn't too bulky (so you can sit with it in your lap on the Muni), can hold all of your essentials and is still cute. What bag do you tote around everyday?

My Mia

Yesterday, I spent the day on the American River- it was so much fun. I wasn't able to snap any photos (I was afraid the camera would get waterlogged!), but we had a great time; lots of sunshine and great company.

After a day in the sun my skin needed some freshening up! Last month, I had an amazing facial at The Spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn and was introduced to the Clarisonic technology. I've been using the Clarisonic Mia for about a month now- and absolutely love it.

Removes 6 times more makeup than manual cleansing
{allowing up to 61% more of Vitamin C absorption}

Over 300 movements per second
{Getting every inch of your face clean}

Holds a 20 minute charge
{which may not seem like a long time, but each session should last about 60 seconds}
I use mine twice a day: once in the morning and once at night

Perfect for any skin type
{Gentle cleansing is perfect for any skin condition}

Compatible with any cleanser
{Don't use a cleanser with a 'scrub' or 'exfoliant'}
I've been using C.O. Bigelow Vitamin Boost Cream Cleanser

You can checkout this amazing tool here; although there are different types of systems, a number of people and all of the reviews raved about the Mia. The Mia is the smallest unit offered, and is the right tool for just about everyone.

Do you have a Clarisonic Mia? What are some of your favorite beauty tools?

Pretty Paints

Love these paintings! I'm no Picasso, but I feel like I could easily (maybe!) create some art like the pieces shown below. The simple brush strokes are so classic and simple. I feel like a grouping of a few of these framed together would make a statement on a white wall. Check out the artist that created these beauties here and here.

What do you think about these? Should I try to DIY?

Tomorrow I am going rafting on the American River with coworkers- should be fun!

Flea Finds

The Alameda flea market! On the first Sunday of each month you can find all things home decor, vintage, kooky, shabby chic, niche. I've included a few photos of what I saw while scouring all of the vendors...

These pins would a vintage touch to any outfit.

I think these circle clock faces would look so unique arranged in a bunch of black shadow boxes.

box-o-keys

Queen of the flea market!

This vendor had all different types/sizes of letters- perfect for anything monogram!

Lovely mirrored tray

This set of 4 chairs had a huge 'sold' sign on them- love those Lucite arms/legs.

This piece was SO neat! It was used in a university library to keep track of the books whereabouts. I keep imagining little succulents and Queen Anne's Lace flowers planted in each drawer- how sweet would that be?!

This vendor had great leather good! All of these cuffs had numbers on them.
I overheard one guy joke about the meaning of the numbers- it was truly funny, but not blog appropriate.

Monogram for sister N

How fab is this large chalkboard?
This would look great leaning against a wall in an office space.

Pair of ikat print chairs

There were tons of these lovely metal letters/numbers spread out on the ground! It was fun to sift through the letters and talk to other people about what they would use their letters to spell.

These succulents were planted in a vintage bathtub!

And....this is what I brought home!
I want to add a little plant, maybe something like this-what do you think?

RC skipped out on visiting the flea market so I had fun discovering all sorts of goodies by myself. Who wants to come with me next month?! What are some of your best flea market finds?

In Bloom

Congrats to the winner of the birchbox giveaway- Emily Locknick!! Email me (themrs@ryanandpage.com) so we can connect!

This little guy sits right by the window getting the perfect amount of sunlight and has three beautiful blooms right now!

Did you know that orchids are symmetrical?

We brought this orchid home with us from a friend's wedding in March- this is the second round of blooms!

Do you have orchids? What plants do you have in your home?

Riveting Adventures

RC and I are all about adventuring. We love free adventures the most. We have a life goal of visiting all of the National Parks- we even have this neat passport to collect stamps of all of the places we visit. Our most recent adventure was to a National Historic Park in Richmond.

Rosie the Riveter National Historic Park- stamped!

Located just across the bay in Richmond, the Rosie the Riveter memorial is free. You can check out everything out here.

Rosie's roses

The memorial spans the length of the victory ships that were built by the Rosies

The memorial's walkways outline some journal excerpts outlining the Rosies' thoughts

Ford Assembly Building

Before visiting you can print out this map, with interesting facts about each stop on the self guided auto tour.

I downloaded the self guided map and tour pdf file to my iPad.
I played tour guide and read each and every interesting fact of the tour.

The only cost of this adventure was the donation to tour the SS Red Oak Victory Ship.

The SS RedOak Victory ship currently docked at the Richmond shipyard and is undergoing restoration. The Red Oak Victory is the last existing ship of 747 cargo ships launched from Richmond (all of the other ships had been scrapped and/or lost in battle). While we really enjoyed the history tour of the Red Oak, our favorite part of the entire day was our tour guide George. He served in WW II, toured overseas on a ship similar to the Red Oak and now volunteers his time as a docent. George's stories were entertaining and his passion for sharing history was inspiring- he was 90 years old!

My Captain

On our way back to the city, we stopped in Berkeley for a treat!

A sweet way to end the day!

Stay turned for more of our adventures! Have you visited any National Parks?

Nifty Knit

Inspired by my sweet sister's post, today I'll brag about our other sister! Sister L sent me this sweet iPad case as a birthday gift. She MADE it for me! Handmade gifts are my favorite!

AND it's my favorite color (yellow!).

L tried to teach me how to knit but I just could never get the hang of it.

I love this intricate brooch- it serves as the perfect case fastener.

Seriously- how talented is my sistah?! SO talented and very thoughtful! Thanks Sister L for my knitted iPad case, I simply love it and will use it daily. Well- what about you; do you knit? What are some of your knitting crafts?
