magic 'rita

anyone have the magic bullet? i love that thing. RC teased me for wanting one and even veto-ed it from our wedding registry. no matter- one of my thoughtful bridal shower guests made sure i received the gadget! it's such a great little kitchen tool. it can be used to make smoothies, salsa, salad dressing, soup (i'm beginning to sound like that infomercial)... but i like to use it to make margaritas- blended ones!

although i do enjoy the simplicity of the traditional frozen cocktail, i added strawberries to mine tonight

the start of something delicious

ingredients ready for the bullet!

ta-da!
the magic 'rita

ingredients:
1 part tequila
handful of fruit (i used frozen strawberries for mine)
1 part sweet and sour mix
3 parts lemonade (i used strawberry lemonade from fresh&easy)

i like to use lemonade instead of the traditional sweet and sour only mix. this strawberry lemonade mixed with one part sweet and sour proved to be the right combination. just the right amount of sweet and not too sour.

the magic bullet is something that I use in the kitchen at least once a week. no- not only to make delicious frozen treats! this magical tool is something that is easily stored on the kitchen countertop without taking up too much space. i only keep the base out- the plastic mugs, colored caps and blades are tucked away and pulled out as needed.

what are some of your favorite kitchen gadgets? do you have any magic bullet recipes that i can try? please share!

tomorrow- the outcome of my diy chevron inspired project.

  1. This looks so yummy! I definitely am going to buy a magic bullet and make this. Wish I had seen it earlier because it looks like perfect pool drink :)
