talk to your plants everyday

succulents are so in. i'm in too. SO easy!

wedding

succulents are easy to care for and add a fresh update to any space. i wanted to add a fresh tidbit to our home office desk space.

-the start-
the large glass is actually a olive jar that i dug out of the many boxes of wedding gifts still in the garage
the smaller is the sugar bowl component of another (unregistered) wedding gift

our neighborhood hardware store didn't have any succulents in stock so RC took me to OSH. i like that store.

-the planting-
note that i am planting on our lovely kitchen counters on top of plastic bags as it was very cold and rainy outside

-the plants-

single succulent: Lucita
large trio:
Hawthorne Herbacea (front left)
Echeveria Melaco (front right)
Little Jewel (far back)

each of the succulents listed above thrive in porous soil that provide adequate drainage. you only have to water when soil is dry to the touch. these succulents are very hardy and will enjoy an indoor environment. while at OSH we looked at all different kinds of potting soil. each bag of soil had the same advice -talk to your plants everyday. seems silly- right? well...not entirely! we need the oxygen that plants produce and our plants need the carbon dioxide that we breathe out. how sweet! what do you think? will you add these little succulents to your home?
