Home Tour 3 (con't)

Here's our living room. This is where we spend the most of our time.

Couches: Compliment of Ryan's grandparents, these white leather couches have served us well. Our overnight guests let us know how comfy they are!
Mirror: Target (a clearance find!)
Clock: A great find from Ross
TV Stand: Workld Market
Bistro table and stools: A wedding gift from Ashley Furniture

This shot shows just a little bit of our 'home office'. We recently upgraded to dual monitors and I can't imagine going back to just one screen. I made the Pottery Barn inspired pinboard above the desk.
Desk: Ikea
Chair: It's Ryan's. I'm not sure where from...

Table runner: World Market
Coffee Table: World Market
Rug: Costco

Console table: World Market
Grandfather clock: (appropriately!) Handmade by my Grandfather
Lamp: Marshalls
Black double office drawer: Container Store
Wine rack: Target

And that picture of our wedding party is on a canvas. Having our friends with our on our special day really made the entire wedding perfect. The cozy blanket on the corner of the couch with our names and wedding date on it, was a thoughtful wedding gift!

Today, our living room is quite bare, as we're packing up to move!

**San Francisco friends, do you love our white leather couches? PLEASE let us give them to you! We plan to get new couches and I'm sure the pair would look great in your home! Let me know and we will arrange something!

Our new place!

It's our last week here in San Francisco! We just wrapped up a great weekend with my dad. We enjoyed some great weather up here and a delish dinner at 5A5 downtown.

Here are some photos of our new place!

Our new Arizona nest is over three times larger than our cozy San Francisco spot, so RC and I have been on the hunt for some major furniture pieces. Stay tuned to see what we've found! :)

House a home

I'm in Phoenix today, interviewing for a potential job- hope everything goes well! With a new place to decorate, I've been thinking about what we have and what we'll  need to purchase. I love World Market. We have a coffee table, media cabinet and console table from World Market.  My fave finds for a fall table.

And a neutral living room with a pop of color with ikat print and bright velvet pillows.
How cool is that mirrored cabinet?

This weekend, we will be hosting my Dad here in the city. I'll be sure to post photos of all of our adventures. What are your plans?

Meet Nugget

Meet Nugget. He's our new cat. Kitten, actually. I haven't wanted to blog about him because he's so new and there's a chance he may not make it. RC encouraged me to share anyway. The story of Nugget goes like this: When we were visiting our family over Labor day weekend, we found the Nug. We found him outside in a pile of bricks. He was meowing very loudly and was so small. So little that his little eyes weren't even open yet and he still had a piece of his umbilical cord attached to his pink belly. We think that the momma cat must of dropped him while climbing on top of the pile and couldn't get to him! How sad; and since it was a holiday weekend, no emergency pet hospitals were open! We trekked to WalMart and grabbed some kitten milk formula and a tiny bottle to feed him. RC was pretty opposed to the idea of us taking the cat in, but finally caved and said we could bring him back home with us. I was ecstatic. MY OWN CAT. Just like I've always wanted.

The Nug. Nuggie. Nugster.

So, the first couple of weeks were rough- up every two hours feeding him his kitten formula with the tiny bottle, keeping him warm with heating pads, hot water bottles and clean towels. And since little kitties haven't yet developed the muscles to potty, the momma cat has to clean them up, so I took over those duties as well! We also visited the vet (the SPCA in the Mission on Alabama Street- I highly recommend!) and she warned that because he was so new and away from the momma cat, there was a large chance that he wouldn't survive, so she cautioned me not to get too attached. Ha- too late! Nugget is now one month old and using the litter box on his own and is eating kitten 'gruel' mixed with kitty formula and cat food. We go back next week to get his six week shots and to test for feline leukemia and FIV. We love him- he keeps us very entertained. Nugget is very excited to move to Arizona. :)

On the move!

It's official! RC and I are on the move! Can you believe it? An amazing job opportunity is taking us to Arizona; (namely the Phoenix area)! We went to look for new places to live this weekend and found a lovely new place to call home- more on that later this week!

Be sure to stay tuned for more details about our upcoming adventure.

Also- Who knows someone (who knows someone) in Arizona? Send them my way! I have got to start networking!

Home Tour 2

The kitchen! When RC found this place (almost 4 years ago), it had just been totally redone with great upgrades!

Top shot
Granite countertops. Micromini Small refrigerator. And yes, that is all of the counter space/kitchen cabinets we have. SIX. Six small cabinets. Count 'em. Can you spot our amazing waffle maker?

View 2
The three cake pedestals were wedding shower gifts and are from c. We have the matching serveware. Slim Simplehuman trash cans fit neatly by the kitchen cart. One is for trash, the other is for recycling. The granite kitchen cart is from Target; I got in on sale last year and I put it together all by myself. Took me forever!

Countertop
Because we are starved (ha ha- funny, because it's in the kitchen- get it?) for counter space, we try to only leave out things that we use everyday. Knife set, coffee pot, salt/pepper and that footed bowl usually holds fruit, but we didn't get any this week! The snap lid containers of rice, flour, sugar used to sit on top of the fridge, but we moved them here to have easier access that top cabinet above the fridge.

Home Sweet Home tea towels.

Framed print of the Bay Bridge.

We had these spice racks on the counter, but mounted them to the wall above the stove to save space!

What is my kitchen must-have? I'd have to say music. There was always music playing in the kitchen when I was growing up! So, this portable Bose SoundDock is perfect for our kitchen space. We use it everyday. We jam in the morning to start the day and mellow out while we cook dinner.
AND- What's behind that curtain, you ask?

Ummm, little shallow built in shelves- perfect for little stuff!
I think that maybe this space used to house a drop down ironing board? I'm not really sure...

Curtain leads to our bedroom.

This cross stitch rose was made by my mom.
My mom gave it as a gift to my aunt when she was married. When Ryan and I were married, Aunt E gifted it to us. I love that it's still in it's original frame. It's really special to me.

 Calendar of events.
Fits perfectly on the side of the fridge. I love how big it is. This keeps us organized. RC and I add events so we can be sure that nothing overlaps and we can plan dinners together.

My favorite thing about our kitchen: the granite countertops.

Least favorite part: you guessed it! Lack of cabinet/counter space. We've made it work though, so it's not horrible. At our place, it's always a close call in the kitchen!

Next up for tomorrow, our living room.
